Luis Felipe Torres is a class of 2016 Master of Public Policy candidate at the Hertie School of Governance. He holds a Bachelor of Laws LL.B. and B.A in Political Science from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. Before starting his master’s degree he worked as director of regulation at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Colombia and he was official representative at the TBT Committee of the WTO. He was Chairman of the Board of the National Accreditation Body of Colombia and board member of Colombian Institute for Technical Standards and the National Institute of Food and Drug Monitoring. He represented the Colombian government in different intersectorial committees responsible for developing public policy.
Luis Felipe is passionate about industry and business growth through trade integration. In his free time he enjoys painting and riding his bike through the forests of Berlin.
