Johanna Buchholz grew up in Berlin. She studied “Philosophy and Economics“ in Bayreuth and Stellenbosch (South Africa) for her undergrad, focusing mainly on ethics and social justice for the philosophical part as well as on microeconomics, especially competition policy/economics, for the economics part. Between her Bachelor and Master, she worked in a consultancy for the public sector that focuses on the labour market/ labour market institutions. Her interest regarding studies at Hertie are Social policy (welfare state) and organizational change/ development/ management. Besides studying she is really into music, literature and photography. She also enjoys skateboarding, even though she is not really good at it.
